NONLINEAR I VERENA BACHL
„Size matters. At least when we‘re talking about installation art.“
Inspired by experimental methods within contemporary art and design and new insights in scientific research and technology, her work oscillates in the media art field. A particular interest of her applies to chaotic, nonlinear systems and creations, which are not only based on automatism but “life of its own” and therefore defy well-controlled design. The primary focus here is not mere observation but initialization of phenomena and therefore the development of machines for producing them.
Designing by means of physical forces and natural processes of creation she tries to unify the physical and digital world holistically. While exploring the transition area between the natural and the technological she reveals what it actually means to be human.
NONLINEAR I Verena Bachl is a Berlin based media artist.
